Test Technician II
Performed qualification testing on new label printers for the largest specialty label printing company serving the automotive, pharmaceutical, postal, medical, financial, retail distribution, warehousing, defense, transportation and shipping industries with sales of more than $700 million.
Reported to the Quality Assurance Manager for testing two label thermal printer lines and various printer products prior to shipment to customers.
Tests included environmental, shock and vibration, print quality, registrations and overall functioning of each unit; testing checked for different attributes over each group of printers.
Partnered with the Engineering Department in performing special tests on engineering changes that were fabricated for pre-production testing.
Utilized a Thermatron Environmental Testing Chamber, an LDS Systems Shock Vibration Table and a Lasmont Drop Tester for shipping and handling testing of packaging.
Analyzed print quality, registration and overall functionality for different models and production runs.
Identified anomalies in printer performance both in hardware and software and prepared testing reports for the Engineering Department and senior management prior to shipment of each production run.
Next Generation products had 802.11b wireless and bluetooth capability. These new models were tested for connectivity and reliability.
Composed test files written in Epl and Zpl languages, which were sent electronically to printers to ensure functionality and reliability of response to operating instructions.

Windows Hardware Quality Laboratory (WHQL) Submission Tester (2001-2003)
Participated on the installation team that took Intel Mini PCI wireless products, including modems and other networking devices, through the Microsoft qualification and test process, which resulted in obtaining the Microsoft license and logo for Intel’s customers on these products. The Thousand Oaks Intel facility manufactured Mini PCI modems, network cards and PCMCIA devices for IBM, Toshiba, Panasonic, Hitachi, Gateway and Dell.
Built test beds for current and new technology, including Mini PCI, PCMCIA cards, and 802.11a and 802.11b access points.
Independently learned various Windows operating systems, Microsoft test kits and wireless devices.
Conducted Alpha to production level testing of software and hardware for Mini PCI, bluetooth and PCMCIA devices.
Participated on a cross-functional project involving hardware and software needs for OEM customers. Investigated and determined what anomalies were creating product issues.

Tested data transfer rates of current and new PCMCIA cards and modems for company designed and OEM customers for a manufacturer of networking cards and modems with more than 500 employees.
Utilized a custom-built Telecom Analysis System (TAS) to test performance of the through-put data transfer rates.
Conducted quality testing on a TAS system to determine if a new design would appeal to the market.
Analyzed and wrote reports, comparing the company’s products against competitor products. Recommended performance changes that were adopted by the development team for product enhancement.
