Quality Systems Analyst/Company Librarian/Internal Auditor

Created, maintained and coordinated detailed reports and databases on customer complaints and quality issues emanating from engineering, tech support, project management, corporate staff and the quality laboratory for the largest specialty label and card printing company serving the automotive, pharmaceutical, postal, medical, financial, retail distribution, warehousing, defense, transportation and shipping industries with sales of more than $900 million.

As auditor, performed quarterly internal quality management system (surveillance) audits in preparation for an ISO-9001:2000 continuous assessment audit by the Underwriters Laboratory.

As librarian, maintained company procedures, work instructions and forms. Conducted training sessions to qualify company authors of documentation used with products, maintenance and procedures.

  • Provided detailed weekly, monthly and quarterly analysis reports of product deviations and defects for corporate quality management and other company offices in China, Europe and the United States.

  • Created databases for human resources, which tracked training for more than 400 employees, and another database for production used to analyze delivery times of manufactured products. Also, created a database for management and production staff use, which tracked and reported defects of manufactured units that were used to improve quality and shipping times.

  • Maintained quality assurance intranet website pages using software.

  • Created and maintained the Quality Assurance Department’s intranet pages used by all 2,000 employees.

  • Conducted 23 internal audits of various departments, including processes as they relate to ISO-9001:2001 elements for the company used for corrective actions to ensure compliance.

  • Created elaborate spreadsheets used by internal process auditors to manage audit assignments and resulting audit findings.

  • As company librarian, maintained the company’s intranet library of 300 procedures, work instructions and forms for all departments.

  • Issued weekly librarian intranet and e-mail notices to all employees as to changes and additions to the library.

  • Trained company authors in methods, style, format standards and editing for submitted documents.

  • Conducted an annual author review project to ensure all documents were current.

United Parcel Service, Van Nuys, California                                                                                               1997-1998

External Technical Support for the Western Los Angeles Region

  • Installed and supported MS Windows-based systems with mainframe networking.

  • Provided technical field support for UPS customers, focusing on computer issues, including hardware and software installation, training, and ongoing support. The company insisted on fast turnarounds on all intervention. Became the “technician of choice” for certain account executives to service their clients.

  • Provided support to 32 UPS customers, solving problems regarding software and hardware failures.

Acting as the sole technical and administrative support person for the Director of the office, office staff and insurance agents, provided training in the use of agency software, the installation of software and hardware, and the creation of databases and reports. Trained staff and agents on the use of Prudential proprietary software packages.

  • Provided technical and administrative support for 98 employees in four offices, including sales executives, management staff and agents.

  • Created a performance and quality review database for management.

  • Installed stand-alone staff PC hardware and software, and client workstations mounted on an AS400 network server.

Research and Technical Assistant, Woodland Hills, California (1991-1994)

Provided essential research and support for a Senior Vice President, whose function was to research and report on new agencies’ projects and operations within the Western agency division.

  • Wrote systems and user manuals/documents to support in-house software.

  • Provided training of new agents and office management in the use of computer-based systems.

  • Worked closely with corporate programmers and other technical staff personnel to download and upload system and data files to servers and personal computers.

Associate Manager of Mortgage Loan Division, Woodland Hills, California (1984-1990)

Supervised a service team of 25 technicians supporting a staff servicing $13 billion of Prudential client mortgages.

  • Managed the Payoff and Customer Services sections.

  • Assisted in the management and bundling of mortgages for sale to other financial institutions.

  • Developed in-house and company-wide computer program specifications for service office software.

  • Created flow charts, system documentation, and data control procedures for staff and management.
