Possess records of total perfect production, including three years (47,000 printers), representing $21.15 million of perfect products sold. Expertise includes outstanding leadership, planning, scheduling, training, mentoring and technical skills.

EXPERIENCE

Zebra Technologies, Inc., Camarillo, California                                                                                   1998-2009

Production Supervisor (2005-2009)

Managed four printer production lines on the evening shift with 52 assemblers for the largest specialty label printer manufacturer serving the automotive, pharmaceutical, medical, financial, retail distribution, warehousing, defense, transportation and logistics industries with sales of more than $900 million.

  • Produced up to 50 different models during each shift, assembling printed circuit boards, plastics, mechanical assemblies, hardware, printer ribbons and packaging materials.

  • Oversaw three quality assurance inspectors checking all finished products. Maintained a record of 99% to 100% of units passed for the last three years and 98% to 100% for the two prior years.  

  • The second shift maintained 100% of productivity, continuously, for five years.

  • Successfully implemented ISO-9001 standards.

  • Assisted the Engineering Department with prototype sub-assemblies, circuit boards and testing fixtures.

  • Scheduled and planned all work, including parts requirements for each shift.

  • Collaborated with the Human Resources Department in performance reviews, disciplinary actions, employee problems, attendance and merit increases.

  • Worked with the Engineering and Quality Departments in resolving assembly problems related to procedures, components, sub-assemblies and final testing.

  • Prepared yearly performance reviews for all lead and production staff. These reviews were discussed with each individual.

  • Recruited, interviewed and hired new production staff, and arranged preliminary training. Maintained attendance records.

  • Conducted weekly safety audits that improved the work environment, assembly equipment, information handling and safety.

  • Participate in monthly supervisor meetings, concerning production, quality and safety issues.

  • Re-worked parts and sub-assemblies that were not up to specification.

Lead Assembler (1999-2005)
Assembler (Eltron Corporation, purchased by Zebra in 1998) (1998)

Initially began as an Assembler and was promoted within nine months to Lead Assembler for the barcode printer on two production lines.

  • Supervised 42 assemblers on the second shift, ensuring that all production schedules were met each day.

  • Maintained a perfect record during five years without a single production error.
