Huntington Memorial Hospital is an acute-care, non-profit community hospital with 450 beds.

  • Served patients, family members and staff through listening, counseling and prayer, providing literature and sacraments as well as coordinating services with community clergy and other spiritual leaders.

  • Delivered spiritual care for Della Martin Behavioral Health Center patients.

  • Worked with the medical staff and other professionals to maintain hospital standards to educate about spiritual care and to enhance development of a mutually supportive environment for healing.

  • Conducted weekly centering prayer sessions for staff in Oncology, Orthopedic Surgery and General Medical Departments.

Bereavement and Spiritual Care Coordinator

With the medical director and the hospice interdisciplinary team, established and implemented bereavement and spiritual care plans for more than 150 families of deceased and terminally ill patients.

  • Conducted two bereavement groups per month and individual bereavement counseling in homes and by phone.

  • Officiated over the annual memorial service.

  • Visited with 250 patients and/or their families at home or in convalescent centers.
